Slow Boat Teppanyaki, Las Americas

We visited this restaurant for a night out for a friends birthday a couple of weeks back.

I’d never been here before, the main reason being that I viewed it as being what I call ‘pretentious’. I mean exepnsive food, and even more expensive drinks, and very little of either.

I was pleasantly suprised! My wife had been to the restaurant next door (Bianco) about a month before and said that the food there was reasonably priced and absolutely delicious too - we went in there for a drink before our meal at Teppanyaki, and while the prices wern’t extortionate, they weren’t cheap either. Saying that though, the cocktails we had were something else - immensely enjoyable.

Once we went into Teppanyaki itself for our meal, I was attracted by the decor as soon as we sat down. The staff were quick to serve, and everything looked very tempting.

I eventually settled for Lemon Chicken and Egg Fried Rice (hardly ground breaking choices I know), and my wife had Chow Mein and a Mushroom Soup to start. The soup when it arrived was, without a doubt, the nicest Mushroom soup I had had in any Chinese in my life.

Likewise, when the Lemon Chicken came out, it was served to perfection, and I thouroughly enjoyed every bite of it.

The prices for the food are very reasonable when you consider the location the restaurant itself is in, and the drinks prices weren’t bad, but I have seen better.

All in all, I’d definitely visit this place to eat again, the night was great fun.
